You might be surprised at how strategically placing a few small pieces of artwork under your patio cover can make everything come together.
The drawbacks of concrete include lack of beauty, and long term maintenance costs. The only type of decking that requires more maintenance than concrete is wood. Pavers, bricks, and other stones are the flip side of that coin - pretty, and low maintenance, but initially more costly.
Ever more custom pergola design kits are now available. Each design kit has style, size, shape and decor variations which permit you to make measurements in your back garden where to fit your pergola, choose the best fitting style, select the right size, select roof shapes besides selecting from many interior decor colours. Most of this can now be done online by selecting from pergola design galleries before purchasing chosen kits.
A patio is a great place to cultivate plants and flowers. Buy or make containers and choose some attractive plants for your patio area. Golden Cane palms do well in large pots and ferns are very attractive in hanging baskets. If you want some colour, look out for Camellias, Begonias, Kangaroo Paws, and Bromeliads. All do well in containers and patios. So long as you remember to water your containers and baskets, you can look forward to a summer of greenery.
