I think patios are a better choice than decks. Patios last longer, require less maintenance, and allow greater design options than decks. Concrete is the most common material used for patios. Probably because it's relatively inexpensive, and builders use it extensively (because they won't be living in the house themselves).
With spring in the air, you're probably thinking about spending more time out on your porch, patio, or terrace in the months ahead.
Lighting is important on a patio, especially if you love to entertain in the evening. Fit some solar lights. Solar string lights are very pretty at night, but make sure you hang them where they have access to direct sunlight.
A simple poster along your home's outdoor wall would also be a great addition since it's super quick and inexpensive to install and it can be seen and admired by all of your guests while adding a splash of color. Floral sconces or mirrors can also work well if you're looking to jazz it up a bit.
